Overcome. Believe. Inspire
“It takes more energy to live a life full of fear than to live one full of faith. To fear is to convince yourself to live within in the walls you’ve built. To have faith is to convince yourself to embrace change”
The Beginning of The Single Handed Pursuit
My name is Kristie Sita and I created The Single Handed Pursuit. I lost my left hand in a boating accident two years ago at age 16. The amputation not only affected me physically, but I continue to face and overcome all 5 types of adversity. I refuse to say, “I can’t” and replace it with, “let’s find a way”. Throughout my recovery I poured countless hours into research about positivity, faith and overcoming adversity. The tools I learned throughout my journey soon sunk into my everyday life and changed my thought process. With a desire to share these tools, The Single Handed Pursuit was born.
The Single Handed Pursuit focuses on overcoming the five most common kinds of adversity: physical, mental, emotional, social, and spiritual. It is important to understand that during times of hardship you are not alone, we all have something or someone that has once made us weak. The Single Handed Pursuit is here to support, encourage and educate you with the tools needed to help you overcome any challenge and achieve your goals. Let us walk you through overcoming self-doubt, letting go of anger, pursuing your cause, getting motivated, staying positive and persevering with a healthy mind, soul and body.
“Life isn’t about waiting for the storm to pass... It’s about learning to dance in the rain”
Through The Single Handed Pursuit learn how to embrace your challenges, and discover that it is during these times that we learn the most valuable information; Our identity and what our strengths and weaknesses are. From challenge, comes opportunity. Let’s allow our vulnerabilities transform our strengths and build the endurance to face all that life throws at us.

Dancer. Amputee. Motivator.
Kristie Sita is a Canadian professional dancer that survived a severe boating accident in 2014. The result was having her arm amputated just above the wrist bones on her left arm. Living life with one hand has grown her heart and passions tremendously. Living now in Vancouver BC, Kristie strives to live a better life with two hands than she ever could have with two pursing her preforming career in commercial dance for Film and Television and Stage. The Single Handed Pursuit is a place for Kristie to reach out to other amputees and people facing all types of adversity showing them hope and inspiration for the better days to come.
Kristie hopes to use her story to help inspire others that no matter what happens to them in a lifetime to continue to pursue what they love most. Our struggles don't define us, how we handle them does.
